Quarantine Diaries Part-1
Little calm is returning back. As
Unlock begins, things are beginning to cripple back to normalcy and I am sure
no one is going to forget enduring 4 lockdowns and we’re going to talk about it
even after the pandemic is over at least I will.
God knows the lockdown was at the right
time or now, the timing of unlock is correct or not; but we are being made to think that
we have to learn to live with it.
Anyway, I wanted to continue this
narrative journey by sharing my quarantine experience.
Without further ado, let’s dive
right into it.
When WHO declared Corona Virus as
a global pandemic, the only fear I had in my mind apart from getting infected by the virus
was not to develop an unscheduled lifestyle because of being at home.
Although, I was attending all my
lectures online; it was the end of semester so I had a lot of assignments and
completion of my research paper lined up; but still I didn’t want the comfort
of being at home to disrupt my organised life in the longer run.
With this thought, this
quarantine turned out to be an opportunity to work upon myself rather than
spending it like a holiday.
This plan of action started by
reading some books, a piece of advice that I always got from my father. To
begin with I started reading some of the best sellers like The Secret by Rhonda
Byrne, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
These classics really change the
way we think about the world around.
Right now, I am reading Good to
Great by Jim Collins.
I acquired some skills which was always a part of my to-do list but I never got the time to learn them before quarantine.
I started rearranging my stuff too because lack of time made things super messy.
I also focused on my health because
it’s very difficult to cope up with that while you are not at home and kept the
fast foods for weekends only.
I’m glad that I didn’t choose being in bed and devouring unhealthy food all day.
Obviously, like everyone
else I also participated in the household chores and if you didn’t then I must
tell you that nothing beats this when you want to make your Indian mother
happy.
I’ve been intimidated by my curly
hair type and I used to straighten them up on daily basis. So, I had to prepare
a whole hair and skin care regime.
I didn’t want to disrupt my
routine so weekends are usual too, I watch some online series and spend time
with family. My parents are a huge fan of the classic Hindi movies, so Saturday
afternoon is entirely for that.
I know that being at home can be
a real bummer sometimes but I think this was the best part of quarantine for
privileged people that we got some time for working on ourselves. And I would
advise, if you still have some quarantine time left, start working on yourself.
Stay tuned for Part-2.
